Nana’s Texas Style Chili

Ingredients

  • 3-4 lbs. round steak
  • 1-2 onions
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • 3-4 cans of tomato sauce
  • 1-2 cans of diced or whole tomatoes
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 3 oz. (1 bottle) of chili powder
  • 1 can of Rotel
  • 1 t cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 c fresh parsley (or 1-2 tsp. dry)
  • 1 tsp. cumin

Steps

Cut meat into small pieces and brown in pot.

Add garlic and onions and let cook together with beef.

Add all remaining ingredients (except cumin) and stir together.

Add a little bit of water (1-3 cups depending on how thick you want your chili) and let simmer for 2 hours.

Serve over rice and top with cheese.
