Nana’s Never Fail Pie Crust

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c shortening
  • 1/4 cube butter (2 Tbsp.)
  • 1/4 c. cold water
  • 1/2 egg white

Steps

Mix shortening, butter, flour, and salt in a large bowl. Cut with pastry cutter or fork until it is almost the consistency of corn meal.

Beat the egg white into the cold water and quickly mix it unto the dry ingredients until you can handle it well.

Tip onto a lightly floured surface and roll out to fit your pie plate.

If pre-baking, bake at 425* for 10-12 minutes
